I have been following the disk horse about Die Hard as a Christmas movie for several years. Now, I have never actually watched Die Hard all the way through. I have probably watched all of it, just not at one time.

So, my son comes barging into my room at 1:00 this morning, while we are wrapping presents for his younger siblings (he is 21) and asks "Is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?" So, I told him the thought that has been on my mind for a while. If Die Hard is a Christmas movie, so is Lethal Weapon. LW starts at a Christmas tree farm. It has a Christmas song in it. It is more a Christmas movie than DH.

In other pop culture news, I showed my husband the Google Home/Home Alone commercial. His phone stopped and the Google assistant on his phone popped open when Macauley Culkin said "OK Google". I thought that was hilarious.

I managed to spend 24+ hours off tumblr. It was a chore at times. I spent the evening writing something I never thought I would find myself writing. Hopefully it will see the light of day in January. It might not have my "name" attached to it, but it will be out there at least.

Passive agressive fandom wank pisses me off. We are all here just to have fun, your kink isn't my kink, my ship isn't your ship, if my head canon pisses you off, so what. You don't have to think that.

I tried that thing yesterday with typing in Comic Sans. It does go faster. I wonder if it has to do with it loading faster or something. It seems like an odd choice to go faster.

I have no less than 10 WIPs. Four of them are in a drive I have titled "want to finish". One of those is close to 8,000 words.

The new Avengers trailer dropped this morning and I was reminded once again of one of the reasons I didn't like Age of Ultron. I don't have a huge background in comics, that's all on my husband, so the less I know about a comic book, the more likely I am to like the movie. I hated the Tobey Maguire Spiderman movies, and the Eric Bana Hulk movie because those are franchises I am familiar with. I loved X-Men though, because I knew nothing about it going in.

Same with The Avengers. But Avengers made me want to ship Nathasha/Hawkeye, then Winter Soldier made me want to ship Natasha/Steve, then Age of Ultron comes along and boom! Hawkeye is married with a bunch of kids and they are trying to throw Bruce/Natasha at me. Do Not Want.

Superhero movies are about more than ships, I Know heck most of the time the female characters are backburner, even Natasha.

Well, I really thought I had made a dreamwidth account back in the day of Ye Old LJ purge. Maybe I did, but I just didn't use it and it got purged. I have had an LJ account since May 2002 (yikes!) but I know I was lurking through friendsfriends of people I followed from yahoogroups long before that.

My fandom history is pretty boring, JAG of all things, although being in fandom and interacting with people I met online helped me through some dark times. An irrational fear of the end of the world occuring Dec. 31, 1999. Then my boys being born premature with health problems two years later.

I dropped out of fandom when JAG ended in 2005, my daughter had just been born, my boys had started school. I went back to work.

In 2009, I discovered Twitter, but kept it to sports and news. Then in the past two years as the real world has fallen apart, I have become disillusioned again. About 6 monhts ago I decided to look through LJ and see what I could find for Timeless fandom. It was dead as I suspected, it all seemed to have moved to Tumblr. So, I started using the Tumblr I had set up but never used.

It was through Tumblr that I discovered The 100, which I just realized is incredibly ironic considering I how I used to fear all things apocalyptic. I came for Bellarke, and stayed for Bellamy Blake.

So, that's me in a nut shell. I write fic sometimes. I start strong and sometimes I even finish. I have 9 posted works to AO3, and probably 10 WIPs in my google drive. I ship Wyatt/Lucy from Timeless, I like Flynn but I don't ship Garcy. I ship Bellarke, though I don't think we are going to see canon Bellarke until the last episode of the series. I like Echo, and really don't like fics where she is made into a shrew or the bad guy. And even though I once repulsed by it, Blakecest has become my secret kink. I mean he tied a guy to a tree for kissing his sister! She knew how to kiss and she was raised below the floor!
