Dec. 6th, 2018 10:16 pmThis is going to take some getting used to again.
My daughter asked me tonight if I had heard about the tumblr uproar. I told her yeah, and then showed her the Bellarke hug from 5.04 that the bot has decided is NSFW. (Speaking of, anyone want a 13 year old? Generally well behaved, gets good grades, likes anime, loves to draw, wants to be a coder when she grows up. Does not see the appeal of Bellamy Blake, I'm thinking about feeding her to the wolves, j/k, I will keep her.) She got a kick out of me saying I'm waiting for someone to make a sign that say's "who's platonic now, Bitch" and wave it in JRoth's face at a con.
I was thinking earlier about my first real introduction to m/m (do we still call it slash?) and wondering how the terminologies have or haven't changed in the years since I first came to fandom. Slash was generally for same sex ships you knew weren't going to be canon, Kirk/Spock (where it all started) Mulder/Krycek, Clark/Lex (Smallville!) Now that it is more acceptable to show m/m or f/f relationships onscreen do we still call these canon couples slash? Avalance, Clexa, Malec,
